Sound Advice: How Weather Impacts Nutrient Application Timing
In our first installment of Sound Advice, join Jeff Divan, Sound’s Director of Agronomy, on a field in north-central Iowa as he discusses application timing for SOURCE™ Corn. SOURCE has a broad application window — from V4 to R3 — and can be added to a tank of herbicide or fungicide for easy application. A V4 application is ideal if spring weather has caused nitrogen stress or root development issues. Growers should consider the VT application window if they will be making multiple end passes earlier in the season or they feel spring weather hasn’t caused nitrogen loss. Data shows that both applications have similar yield increase potential, so growers are encouraged to take advantage of the flexible application window to match their operational strategy and maximize their ROI.
